2 Years With our Hannah!

Today officially marks 2 years since our sweet Hannah was placed in our arms.  In some ways it is hard to believe it has been so long, but at the same time it seems like she has always been a part of our family.

When they placed Hannah in our arms, she cried for all of 2 seconds.  It was amazing.  We had prepared ourselves for a traumatized child who might cry, scream, or shut down. Instead she graced us with her beautiful smile, which has continued to brighten our lives every day since then.

I have had several people tell me that they would consider adopting, but that the unknowns are just too scary.  The truth is that no matter how you add a child to your family, you are taking a leap of faith.  And that leap of faith leads to such tremendous blessings.

We love you, our sweet Hannah Min!

-Sending great love to everyone from our travel group who is also celebrating their children today!!

K the Soccer Player

I enjoy my role as a soccer mom.  Especially when I get to watch my favorite four year old trying something brand new with Coach Daddy.  So much fun!

It will be a fun weekend for them, and us, but remembering those last goodbye hugs keeps making my eyes leak!

Photo Shoot: Covered Bridge

I know that this is a crazy time of life to have a new hobby, but at least my hobby is creating memories of my favorite kids. 🙂  Here are some pictures that I took for my final photography assignment of the most recent class I have been taking.

Back Again

Here it is, the first day of school again.  I have tried to keep myself in denial about it for the last couple of weeks, but today I packed lunches and stuffed backpacks.  I guess I can no longer deny that it is back to school time.

Yesterday a friend asked Z if he was ready to go back to school, and he replied, “No, I am overwhelmed with disappointment”.  Haha, that guy knows how to express his feelings.

Luckily he really seemed okay today.  It probably helped that he had his little brother coming to his school this year.  I think they were both extremely excited to be back in school together again.

And D, starting first grade at a new school.  It will be a whole new world for him.

Oh, my heart.  I miss them like crazy already.  How many days until next summer???
